Safeguarding Policy

Policy Statement on Safeguarding at
St. Oswald’s Church in Bidston

St. Oswald’s Church in Bidston takes its duty and obligation to protect all extremely seriously.

As members of the church, we commit ourselves to the nurture, protection, and safe-keeping of each person — especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We follow the robust procedures, policies, and guidance directed by both the Church of England and House of Bishops. To enforce this, and as part of our commitment to this protection, the PCC of St. Oswald’s Church have appointed Miss Bev Kearney as the designated Safeguarding Officer (PSO) for our church.

The Diocese of Chester’s Safeguarding pages contain vital links and information, including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.

You can find out more about the National Policies and Procedures here. If you have any safeguarding concerns, or issues with a particular safeguarding matter, you can find useful contact information here.
